Life Insurance Basics

Life insurance pays a benefit to the people you choose if you pass away. The two main types are term (coverage for a set period) and permanent (coverage designed to last your lifetime, like IUL or final expense).

Mortgage Protection

Your home is likely your family’s biggest expense. Mortgage protection is life insurance sized around your mortgage, paid to your family — not the bank — so they can stay in the home.

Common questions

Questions Families Ask Us Most

How much does life insurance cost?

It depends on your age, health, coverage amount, and policy type. Term life is usually the most affordable place to start. Because we’re independent brokers, we compare rates across multiple carriers. Quotes are always free.

What’s the difference between term and permanent life insurance?

Term life covers you for a set number of years at a lower cost. Permanent coverage, like IUL or final expense, is designed to last your lifetime and may build cash value, but typically costs more.

Do I need a medical exam?

Not always. Some of our carriers offer accelerated underwriting, and qualifying applicants may get an instant decision without an exam. Whether you qualify depends on the carrier, your age, health, and coverage amount.

I already have coverage through work. Is that enough?

Often it isn’t. Employer coverage is usually limited and typically ends when the job does. A personal policy stays with you no matter where you work.

How long does the process take?

The quote form takes less than a minute. Your appointment usually takes 20–30 minutes. From there, timing depends on the carrier and underwriting — some qualifying applicants get a decision the same day.

Is there any cost or obligation to get a quote?

No. Quotes and consultations are free, and there’s never any pressure to buy.

This information is educational and general in nature. Coverage availability, policy features, and premiums vary based on individual circumstances and insurance carrier. Applications are subject to underwriting and carrier approval.
